“America” is a call to action. A wake up anthem for a generation. The lyrics take us on a cultural journey through the post-modern story of America. When we land we find ourselves thrown into a moral dualism unlike any moment in our young nation’s history. “America” beckons all of us to wake up and carry the torch of freedom and justice. When it seems that our American dream has been diluted by our Hollywood fantasy, “America” challenges all of us to see the world through the lens of reality.

America
We woke up in Hollywood
The sun was shining like it should
When we woke up in Hollywood
The Hustler man he got us good
When Norma Jean was on the hood
And we woke up in Hollywood
And the world pulls the shade
On the red, white, and gray
Wake Up
America
America
Jesus was the least of these
But we’re so scared of your disease
When we woke up in Hollywood
We were marching in the streets
Yeah, Hippie Lovers LSD
When we woke up in Hollywood
And love saves the day
For the red, white, and gray
Wake Up
America
America
Yeah, shout it from the rooftops
Tell it like it is now you don’t stop
It’s like the days of confusion
Cause we all dealin’ with the war of intrusion
Good the bad, right the wrong
Don’t give it up till you come out strong
We gotta do it now
Cause now’s the time
Don’t sleep on your bed
Don’t sleep in your head
Don’t sleep in the streets
Don’t sleep
We need you, need you
Wake Up
America
America
