Todd's channeling of Stephen Merritt or something like that. Or not.

Todd: guitar and vocals.

Wrote this one just shortly before recording it. Thought that I would strike while the iron was hot and I still loved it.
Although, while during the recording, I still searched for the right vocal line at times, I still like the way that it came out.
I like it very much.

Looks like we made it to the middle
I never, ever thought
That we would get this far
Never get the chance to solve the bigger riddle
Push a little further and collect more scars

1.
It’s a dead man’s world
Life is just a break
A time in-between
Until we finally get to take
That long, long nap
After years of being awake

Become, once again
A part of the mud

Looks like we made it to the middle
I never, ever thought
That we would get this far
Never get the chance to solve the bigger riddle
Push a little further and collect more scars

2.
The road left behind
Is littered with mistakes
But we keep moving on
And raising the stakes
And we‘ll use the lessons we've learned
On the roads we've still to take

Breathe it all in
And keep the windows open

Looks like we made it to the middle
I never, ever thought
That we would get this far
Never get the chance to solve the bigger riddle
Push a little further and collect more scars

truth of musicianship of song crafting is when the tune can hold its own with singer-songwriter doing it like this

Psyche Folk
Really cool song with a happy/sad evocative feel..Dig the thoughtful lyric alot and the way the melody moves over the chords..Excellent performance too with just a guitar n vocal

The Good Stuff: VI
Not sure why I didn't add this one yet. I think that it's among the best songs that I've ever written. Looking to re-record it sometime soon, too—with a full band.
