A weird melody idea on the verses that has been with me for years and finally found a home. You wait through the weirdness, then this killer bridge into the killer chorus comes out of nowhere. Wait for it. You won't be sorry.

I'm moving back to the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was raised, in January. It's bringing up a lot of emotion. I've been in Seattle for about 12 years. I will not miss the rain.
I'm drowning in the pouring rain
I wish the sun were back again
If wishes were horses
Then beggars all would ride
I'm lonely in this freezing cold
I wish I had a hand to hold
If wishes were fishes
Then beggars all would dine

Oh, What a world, I think I'm
Going back to California

I'm a fine young penitent
Who found my way
Out of my way
It's been a long, long time since innocence
Called it a day
Oh, what a day!

Just let me off this crazy ride
So I can feel some still inside
And let me breathe easy
Along the ocean shore
And walk among the tide pools there
Pacific breezes in my hair
And barefoot and gentle
Play music by the fire

We can start over (x8) x

grand harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, the lead into the bridge is very very cool...(wow, my first reaction, various and diverse moods in a song)
