This is a Reggae/Caribbean song about police brutality and racial profiling

I originally wrote this song in 2004 for a class project. It is a true story about a situation that happened to me in 1985. I am working on a new Reggae CD and I decided to revamp and update this song. The older version is also here on my page.

Oooh Yeah oh oh oh oh

Danger, you better run and hide.
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, they walk and they talk like policemon
Danger you better run and hide
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, The men in Blue racist policemon

I was driving slow down the street then they came from behind
The red and blue lights flashed on me so I pulled to the side
I put my hands up so they could see I didn’t want to be shot
Their guns were pulled as they came towards me I started praying a lot cause I knew it was

Danger, you better run and hide.
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, they walk and they talk like policemon
Danger you better run and hide
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, The men in Blue racist policemon

They made me lay face down on the ground, they started searching my car
I tried to ask them what I had done and what were they searching for
They told me shut up don’t say a word you fit the gangster profile
And you are guilty of DWB Drving while Black and they smiled and I knew it was danger
Danger, you better run and hide.
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, they walk and they talk like policemon
Danger you better run and hide
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, The men in Blue racist policemon

Please Mr. Officer I’ve done nothing
Please don’t hit me no mo
I’m just trying to get home for dinner
After I stop at the sto
He said you better shut up you thug
Or I might choke you to death
Because I really don’t give a what
Cause you deserve what you get and I knew it was danger

Danger, danger, danger, danger, danger
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, they walk and they talk like policemon
Danger, danger, danger, danger, danger
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, The men in Blue racist policemon

Danger, danger, danger, danger, danger
Danger, danger, danger, danger, danger

Danger, you better run and hide.
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, they walk and they talk like policemon
Danger you better run and hide
The terrorists are cruising the streets mon, The men in Blue racist policemon

a sonic tapestry, with many vivid details, explores the "feel" of danger, with engagin' vocal, bvs, fx, reggae riffs, like the 'oh ohs', sad this can and does happen in america...

**Minstrels***
stoneman brings the rhythms, groove, harmonies, and many vivid details, to tell the story, a sonic tapestry, a social chronicle, kudos...
