The seductively vintage sound of a mellow electric guitar solo opens up the track, followed by a massively classic and beautifully powerful vocal performance. The lyrics seem, even more so now, to be delving deeper and deeper into experience and memory, feelings and dreams, as opposed to songs for the sake of songs. This song is pretty incredible actually, it has the jazz element down, with a slight flicker of At Last to the melody and the style, but it also brings the song writing right up there with the best of them. Plus, there’s a little bit of that smokey-blues sound mixed in, just to top it all off.

One day we will meet again
On that far and distant shore
And holding hands understand
That no one loved us more
One day we will meet again
After the tears and the pains
One day we will be as one
After the fears and the rain
One day we will meet again
After other loves have gone
And looking at each other then
Will see our love lives on
One day we will leave it all
And walk through forest lawns
Our days will come again
Like the sunlight and the dawn
