(Love)Song to the woman in the moon

I used to feel that I could see the face of a woman I knew in a full moon. One night while looking at a full "strawberry" moon. I decided to talk (sing) to her.
|
Once upon a night
I looked up through the trees
And saw your face shining down
On me
It was radiating grace
From that distant place
That you chose to be years ago
And then last night
There was a Strawberry Moon
Glowing like a heart
Let go too soon
And you were radiating love
From so high above
The place years ago I chose to be
I thought I’d need a rocket ship
To touch your face again
But I’ve always been
The lucky kind
Chorus
I’ve seen our lives like orbits
Traveling round the same sun
Often feels like we’re flying away form each other
Then sometimes it feels like we’re the same one
Sometimes the moon she’s full and bright
And sometimes she’s just a sly smile
Either way she makes me think
That I haven’t seen you in a while
But I always have that memory
Of the first night that I saw you looking down
And I know that one of these days
You’ll be back around
I used wonder why the tide
Would keep climbing up the beach
But it was just you trying to reach
Something you couldn’t keep
Chorus
Next time I see your face
Smiling down from that night sky
I’ll do everything I can girl, to catch your eye
And for that full moon night
We’ll share that same path of flight
That we traced around the sun
Till you slipped away
