A sweet jazz love tune with just voices and a trio of mellow Stratocasters.

I love songs with imagery - moonlight and starshine are so evocative. I wanted to write dreamy, image-filled lyrics to a long, wandering melody over a bed of constantly changing jazz chords.

Moonbeams
Shine from your eyes when you smile
Lighting every room
Starshine
Pales to the way that your eyes
Chase away the gloom
Wouldn't you like to take a moonbeam's ride
Across the heavens with me tonight?
Filling the world below with lovely light
We can fly higher than the moon above
Filling the universe with so much love
Sharing it all because we've got enough
To share
Sunshine
Pours from your heart when you speak
Warming every room
Sometimes
Something inside me grows weak
Listening to you
Couldn't you see the way you captivated me
With every word you said?
Letting me take a walk inside your head
Tell me a story on a moonless night
Every word you say will be just right
Tell me you love me and the world just might
Believe
