Breezy, easy endless summer song

My friend and collaborator, Tom Rumsey sent me the guitar-based chord progression which just sounded like summer to me. And summer, in my imagination was always the endless summer of southern California.

What were we thinking baby, you and me
Acting like we're children and everything's free, but
We got wind in our hair and nowhere to be
For the whole summer
We can just sit in the sand
And watch the sun fade
Forget about tomorrow
And the plans that they made
Drive the coast highway down from Malibu
Acting like we're movie stars with nothing to do
We're living in a place where everything's true
For the whole summer
We can just ride in this care
Through the Hollywood night
And into the desert
And right out of sight
Tell me that this isn't just me pretending
Even though I know that's what makes this place real
Always on the run
Always looking for the fun
For the endless summer feel
Let's just trying to make some sense
When worrying bout what's true only makes you tense
Don't spend your life wondering where it went
For the whole summer
So we can just drive up Mulholland
And watch the moon rise
And laugh at all the movie stars
Who light up the skies.
