This song has a structure unlike any song I've ever written. Each line of lyrics is exactly 4 syllables long. It's sort of a stream of consciousness contemplating something my wife said. Each section is arranged a little differently so it's kind of sonically surprising. It's a very right-brained song, which is different for me.

Written, produced, and performed by Tom O'Brien

I wrote this song a few years back, and began recording it with Bob Elliott, but we ran out of time and just shelved it. Then, about 4 years later I stumble across the computer file of the unfinished song and I find I really like it! So, I recreated it using the original as a template, but then arranging it with this and that to create a sonic journey that I think you'll enjoy.
Something you said
Stays in my head
All through the night
Something so right

"Time's
Not for real"

Falling awake
Fall like a star
Call it a day
Know who you are

"Time's
Not for real
Time's how you feel"

Time on my hands
Nothing withstands

Dreaming awake
Every day

Something you said
Stays in my head

"Time's not for real"

TRIPPING BALLS
We were tripping balls. Peaking like crazy. And you said something. I can't remember what it was, but we both stopped. Froze. Staring at each other, wide eyed with dilated pupils larger than the dark side of the Moon. And then we started laughing so hard. Looking at each other and laughing. Something you said. Something you said. What were we laughing about? Something you said.
