This is a true story song about hearing from someone who knew me when I had hair.
|
She knew me when I had hair, when I was young and tender
Late one evening the phone was ringing.
And when I picked it my ears were steadily tingling
Then I heard her, a voice familiar and when she Said my name I felt something peculiar.
Then she mentioned how its been a long time, Hope that you’ve been well and good, I’ve been fine.
When she asked me to send a photo something deep inside said oh no no no!
She knew me when I had hair, when I was young and tender
She knew me when I had hair, that was so long ago
As the convo with her continued we laughed and we talked about the things we’d been through.
Then she sent me a smiling Jpeg and clearly there was no hair on top of her head.
I remembered those long and curly locks so seeing her bald was such a big shock.
And she remembered my giant afro and so I confessed my hair fell out a long time ago.
I knew her when she had hair, when she was young and tender
I knew her when she had hair, that was so long ago
She knew me when I had hair, when we were young and tender.
She knew me when we had hair, that was so long ago.
