Took a walk down Wilson street just to heal my dreams
Lived in a flat there when I was seventeen
Didn't have much money but we had a lot of fun
Till we were kicked out by the landlord with his gun
Sometimes you win some things - sometimes you lose it all
Sometimes pride comes before a fall
'Bout five years later I was in that street again
Different house had been lent to a very special friend
Thought she would be the one an let my feelings show
knew she could be better off an I had to let her go
Sometimes you win some things - sometimes you lose it all
Sometimes I wish I'd responded to her call
break
All these years later I reflect upon the past
often the best of things were never meant to last
I know she's happy & I guess that I am too
Has to be a reason for things that I've been through
Sometimes you win some things - sometimes you lose it all
Sometimes sunshine follows a squall
