Sometimes I feel like the only monkey in the zoo. I'm surrounded by other animals, but none of them speak monkey.

I am the only monkey at the zoo
I haven't got got a gal to make love to
And, where my friends and family are
I haven't got a clue
I'm stuck in my enclosure
With a view of kangaroo
I am the only monkey at the zoo
I'm dreaming of the jungle I once knew
You get to look at me
And I get to look at you
Then everybody leaves
And another day is through

We're just monkeys, too?
I do a lot of thinking at the zoo
But, there's no one I can tell my ideas to
You can't understand me
And, I can't understand you
Then, you take a couple pictures
And, you're off to see the gnu (new)
I've considered a philosophy or two
But, what is life when you live at the zoo?
And, who's the smarter monkey?
Is it me, or is it you?
If we had a conversation
Would you be worth talking to?
