fiogf49gjkf0d North Dakota Lonesome - Kel Schmitz
I'm North Dakota lonesome again, as my thoughts scatter over the sea. Oh, to have both my feet firmly on the terrain would seem so much like heaven to me. No, I've never been much of a sailor my friend, though I tried to make friends with the sea. But the sailboats and submarines never were meant for an open plains drifter like me.
(CH) I'm North Dakota lonesome, and I've never felt so much alone. Thinking about the ones I left behind and dreaming about my home.
These days I'm caught up in the fast city life, keeping up with my share of the load. My travels have brought me both good times and strife, as I've wandered down each lonely road. For I miss the fresh scent of the cool morning air, and the sound of the meadowlark's call. And the solitude of a mid-winter storm, but it's the people I miss most of all.
(CH) I'm North Dakota lonesome, longing for my family. I've been the world over, but when all is done I'll return home forever to thee.
(Instrumental solo)
(BR) Where the snowflakes are falling, and the prairie wind's calling to me.
(CH) I'm North Dakota lonesome, and I've never felt so much alone. Thinking about the ones I left behind, and dreaming about my home.
