TREASURES
You are busy making money
And love when people say:
"Everybody knows you and
You've come a long, long way!"
You're in there with the in-crowd
The parties never stop,
And you're sailing through the good life
With the people at the top.....
But, are you really happy?
Does your heart know how to sing?
Do you discover, and find pleasure,
In the simple, little thing?
Like a dew drop in the morning sun
And a cloud shape in the sky -
A blossom on a tree
With a pretty butterfly...
These are the treasures any one of which
Any one of which
Can fill your soul with pure delight
And make you really rich.
You are climbing up the ladder
Of success and worldly fame
As you sacrifice your precious time
To this never ending game.
You tell yourself: Tomorrow
I will benefit and reap
As you start off on another race
And prepare another leap....
But, are you really happy?
Does your heart know how to sing?
Do you discover, and find pleasure
In the simple, little thing?
Like the soft touch of a now flake
And a bluebirds melody
And the knowledge deep within your heart
That LOVE is all around.
