Whom should I vote for?

VOTE
It's time to vote and choose someone
To represent me for a while
Someone I know, someone I trust
Someone with flair and style.
So I read the papers, watch the news
To learn who's doing what
I've read it all, I've seen them all
And most are not so hot.
But I've got to vote for someone
I don't know who to pick
One's got no experience
The other one's much too slick
But I've got to vote for someone
And it keeps me up all night
If I only knew for whom to vote
I'd exercise my right.
"If you vote for me, I promise you..."
That's what they all say
A promise made is a promised kept
That will be the day!
You hear them say: It's time for change
The tax you hate - I'll sock it!
But the change that they all talk about
Is the change that's in your pocket.
But I've got to vote for someone…
They are standing at the corner
With a baby in their arm
Waving hands at who knows who
Full of television charm.
I waved back at one the other day
With a loud and strong "Hi there!"
She kept on waving straight ahead
As if I wasn't there.
But I've got to vote for someone…
I'll cut your taxes, bring you work
Make problems disappear
You can visit me and talk to me
I'll have a sympathetic ear.
I'll be your friend in government
You don't need to remind me
I'll be there when you need me, friend
As long as you can find me.
I've got to vote for someone…
But I don't know who to pick
One's got no experience
The other one's much too slick
But I've got to vote for someone
So here is what I'll do:
Since you were nice enough to call me up
I think I'll vote for you!
When I listen to the candidates
Oh! Brother
They only have bad things to say
About each other.
When I think I've found someone I like
You should see the dirt they find
And suddenly I'm not so sure
And I start to change my mind.
