grounded with beats made on a guitar and a computer, Blood River utilizes a fender rhodes and synthesizers to back up Alex's falsetto melody, which delivers lyrics about God, the future, and personal freedom. all words, music, and performances by Alex Pfender

While the initial keyboard theme of the song was composed quickly, progress soon ground to a halt as Alex struggled with composing a melody to fit the chords, and his lyrics failed to deliver the emotional impact he desired. he tinkered with the song for over a year, and it seemed like it would never be finished. but when a school project forced him to construct a song using synthesizers and electronic drums, everything changed. hitting his guitar and flipping the sound backwards to make a beat, Alex threw away the old melody and 3 pages of carefully constructed lyrics, deciding instead to feature his falsetto range in slow, arcing lines. a few hours later, Blood River was finished.
