Calypso-flavored tune with maybe the most-dynamic melody that I've ever written. Probably covers a couple of octaves, which is challenging for me. But I think that it's a nice melody and a lot of fun to play.

A Perfect Girl, A Perfect Tune

1.
I forgot to close the blinds the night before
And I know that my window faces east
The light came pouring through in the morning
It burned my eyes in slashing, white-hot streaks

(Pre-chorus)
So I groped around my room to find the dresser
To prepare myself for the day ahead

(Chorus)
And I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl, humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

2.
I forgot to close the blinds sort-of on-purpose
Because I didn’t really want to have to see
I thought that I could hide just like a child –
What I can’t see, I know cannot see me

(Pre-chorus)
So I groped around my bed to find the blankets
To cower in the comfort of my room

(Chorus)
And I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

(Pre-chorus)
And I groped around my life to find some answers
I was not prepared for what happened next

(Chorus)
So I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

Todd is working his groove from a different perspective these days, way more organic releases and has decided that a stripped down acoustic approach is currently the way to go. I like that, trust your musicianship and do the coffee house folk thing.
