Auset
Don't Give In
In the wide open spaces of loss there is always a gap where we can sneak back in to the valley of life and struggle on. Where we go in our moments of grief is unclear but we do go somewhere, maybe down a crooked path of long shadows and chill winds that bleach us into acceptance. Our emotional ties can so easily sever, we lose people along the way like pieces of a puzzle that won't finish fair, but we carry our broken with us and trace the outline of who is missing on those quiet days. Auset sings so beautifully for these unfathomable fragile doubts. I wasn't bricked up ready for this song to happen upon me tonight! Though the only colour of blue is sad, here is a song that brings comfort down like a warm blanket, just to know we all feel sorrow in different ways and at different times shows music as tender as this is as comforting as comfort gets. A Mesmerising, haunting song for the soul.

Look in the Mirror
A fabulous bluesy sashaying going on in this song, kind of a pride in how folk and blues has always gone hand in hand with drink and a good time, the track tells a well known story sent on its way through the ages from beer to brawl and on to musicians and then to infinity... This is a feel good taste of what it is to look at the world through the bottom of a tall glass, real classy stuff and I like it :)

Save my soul
Beautifully sung and played but what I really love about this song is it is so believable, it's like overhearing a musical telephone conversation between lovers, I found it by chance on the hitline & it's nice not to have to go digging to find a track that you instantly connect with from an artist you don't already know, I like it, it's great mood music and kind of understated, excellent!

Life Without Lolly
A daydreamy look into another's heart and the simplistic melody actually guards a very deep emotion and makes the loss break open like a fresh wound, a startling song that washes over you kindly yet leaves a feeling of guilt, that we might all miss someone one day, and however much, still be forced to live on, laughing, struggling, enjoying life, despite feeling like our right arm is missing, or something worse, a part of our soul...

Taxes
Terrific LOL!! He said it & so great to hear humour in such an irritating chore as filling in the tax form! In fact I loathe forms of all kinds so this song just had to go on my station, keep telling it like it is Helmut! :) Good song!

Wacky land never sounded so good!! Endearingly off the radar & I like how the vocals are faraway sounding, the tunnel effect & background humming works for me, rollin!! Oh & the honks & hoots just zap it to the humour zone, yaaaaaa!!!!! Get a load :)

The irony cuts like a diamond, makes you see further, a brilliantly conceived song drowning in insightful passages of notes from a world weary diary, exotic and calculated, love it!
