The Tone Junkies are a punk rock and roll band formed in early 2006 consisting of founding member Dave “Lagger” DuPre’, lead guitarist/vocals along with Mike Colon rhythm guitarist/vocals, Barry Martin drums, and Rene “Kid Sickness” Hernandez bass. They hail out of North Orange County where legendary punk rock bands such as The Adolescents & Agent Orange first got their recognition and helped launch the punk rock movement in the U.S.A Just over a year into the project they found themselves playing shows with legendary band Social Distortion in venues including The House Of Blues and The Fillmore as direct support. They put out their first release Load-a-vated completely independently in April 2008 and have gone on to sell several copies via I tunes, Myspace, local record stores, etc worldwide. Along with Social Distortion the band has been fortunate enough to share the stage with Agent Orange, D.I., Duane Peters, Narcoleptic Youth, Angry Samoans, Dr. Know and have created a small but stable local fan base. The Tone Junkies have several influences from several genres but are mainly influenced from ballsy rock and roll bands to aggressive punk rock bands and include bands like Social Distortion, AC/DC, and Green Day to name a few. Currently the band is gearing up to hit the studio for the recording of their second album. They look forward to seeing you up front at their next show….
