Trailer Trash Lot 420:
Band founder, Russell Coe, met his future wife, Raylene, in 1980 when her family moved into the same 3-block-wide trailer park where he lived with his mother and aunt. Back then, the Tamarack East mobile home park was in the outskirts of town - next to a bar named “Pore Jacks” and a mile west of the Orlando dump. It was in this tiny, isolated community that Russ and Raylene met and discovered a mutual passion for music (and each other). Theirs was a mystical, almost supernatural, attraction – forbidden by age (and their parents) – but pursued with ardor and founded on a burning desire to create music for all to enjoy.
Their musical style reflects their influences. Russ’ soul-searching, impromptu blues/rock style is heavily influenced by such artists as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. This is vitally complemented with Raylene’s deliberate and melodic style that reflects her strong Led Zeppelin influence. As children from an era of both classic and southern rock, their music resonates with a new classic rock sound that incorporates country, rap, and various rock styles (affectionately referred to as “C.R.A.P. rock”).
Trailer Trash Lot 420 has had, much like it’s name implies, transient membership over the years. Recently, however, their potency has been rekindled with the powerful backing of a new drummer, simply known as “Sparky”. He too evolved from the rural trailer trash culture.
Embracing that culture, Trailer Trash Lot 420 reinforces the notion of true independence and freedom. Rustic innovation juxtaposed against today’s high-tech and ever-more appearance-minded society. With velcro tunes and thought-provoking lyrics, Trailer Trash Lot 420’s appeal is undeniable and as resilient as those who, while living from pay check to pay check, keep this country going strong.
