Rock has weathered a hazardous course over the past decade. The heroes of the real, the soul, the passionate truth of rock and roll’s potential, they are dead or swallowed. Inevitable media crucifixion has withered the inner spirit of the people’s music. Joplin, Cobain, Corgan, Staley, Cornell, Weiland, they are all lost to our generation in some form, having given up or given in to the grind they once so valiantly rallied against. With blazing riff, pounding beat and barbed lyrical insight, these warriors of rock and roll gave hope to millions of disenfranchised youth. Hope that together, through honesty, passion and skill, we stood a chance of tearing down the walls of the brutal pop machine droning our heads to stupor. Even though we stand here now, well into a new millennium that looks rather like a previous decade with shinier toys, the rebellious spirit of the underground is born anew to challenge the pointless decadence of the material mainline pervading our society. Tomorrow will be beautifully hazardous.

Tripping Hazard was born in a bathtub at Bathurst and Harbord in down town Toronto on February 11th, 2005. Tripping Hazard was born in the upstairs of the Poor Alex Theater over drinks, conversations concerning Frank Zappa, Babes in Toyland and mysterious face wounds: the locations of bassists and bathtubs. Tripping Hazard was born in emotion, connection, lovers and friends, anguish and inspiration. Tripping Hazard is a spider web of Toronto's rock and roll youth underground. A generation served the scraps of crushed revolution, forced to find and become our own heroes among each other.

Hazardous components to handle:
Jen Hall, age 21, mastermind, chief songstress, guitar fiend and vocal pixie.
Joel Dalton, age 24, musical alien, bass ninja, vocal harmonizer
Reuben, age 24, stroker of guitars, slight vocal emission, and intensive hat wearing.
Warren, age 23, timed beater of beatables, the pink fluffy tip.

While continuing to hone their live chops among the ridiculously talented groups of Toronto’s independent music scene, Tripping Hazard have recently completed their debut self-recorded and produced six song EP, It Can't Be Pounding In Your Head If It's Throbbing In Your Groin. The EP is the first release for upstart activist music label, Trinket Trance. A follow up full length is being planned for May 2006. True passion and guts will ensure that rock and roll remains incapable of death. Tripping Hazard will stand the front line as a steadfast alternative to corporate puff posers and trend driving opportunists. The future will be a trip.
