I took a stab at rethinking my original song and giving it some added focus and sense of intention/purpose. It's the same basic chords and basic melody, but quite different in a number of ways, which I think have a positive effect overall.
Recorded and mixed at home. All instruments performed or programmed by CTWitt.

You’ll never know, never know
How the deep end feels
Till you take a step inside
You’ll never know soon enough
What the depths conceal
Watching as the waters run dry...
Here we are at the end
Teetering on the edge of something we can’t comprehend
The water’s calm so they say
But ripples grow amidst the undertow as the children play
(As the children play…)
You’ll never know, never know
How the deep end feels
Till you take a step inside
You’ll never know soon enough
What the depths conceal
Watching as the waters run dry
Don’t let your feet get too cold
You’ll never win confidence worn thin
(To the bone)
Just listen well as I say you must stand tall as the torrents rage
Though the distant shore seems so far away
I know we’ll be okay…
(chorus)
Into the deep
Into the darkness cold and afraid
Don’t hold your breath
For too long it might slip away…
