God's Word is powerful, able to change our lives but we must read It, hear it and make it a daily oart of our lives. This song says a little about how God's Word can affect us and strengthen us if we are listening to the Spirit speak to us through It.

I was reading in the Bible; It was many years ago,
And I was just a youngster, so I really did not know. How Jesus came to die for me because God loved me so,
And who so ever believed, He would receive, and He would help me as I grow.
I was reading in my Bible, Oh, just the other day,
It was in the Book of Romans, what the great Apostle had to say.
He wrote about the wraith of God and how the wicked would have pay,
And it read so much like the world around, I fell on my knees to pray.
I was reading in my Bible, Oh, just the other day,
And my heart was filled with gladness at what the writter had to say.
It told how Jesus died for me, to take my sins away,
And I don't have to live in sin no more, 'cause He keeps me day by day.

Oh the message in God's Word, It speaks to one and all,
Who will open It to read each day, and will listen to His call.
Oh, I'm so glad God shared His plan through ordinary men,
To write His Word, that It might be heard, how Jesus saves from sin.
I was reading in my Bible, I'm sure it was today.
Jesus said He's gone to prepare a place, and He'll take me there some day.
Oh what a glorious morning when I see that golden ray
Of the light shining from my Savior's face and I'll be home to stay.
