A musical Christmas Card to friends and family

Written, performed and produced by Jonathan Patrick Moore

Just a flight of fancy and memory.
An English Christmas

Days are swiftly drawing in, scudding grey clouds threatening,
Smell of wood fires burning, shrouding the swollen town,
Icy snail trails winding, bundled children hiding,
Seeking some then finding, as the watery sun sinks down.

Huddled choirboys shivering down the High street carolling,
Sound of hand bells ringing, cutting through the frozen air
Christmas decorating, every window celebrating,
The gift we are awaiting at the closing of the year...

It's a Christmas Card so magical,
Traditional yet typical,
A memory so personal,
The way it's always been
And though it's many years since I,
Have tasted mother's mincemeat pie,
I still recall in my mind's eye,
An English Christmas scene.

3 'o' clock the choir from"Kings" all the household listens in
"Hark the herald angels sing" as we all hum along,
Later on to church we go, sing "In Dulci Jubilo",
And "See amid the winter's snow" all my favorite Christmas songs

It's a Christmas Card so magical,
Traditional yet typical,
A memory so personal,
Of smells and bells and rhyme
And though it's many years since I,
Have tasted mother's mincemeat pie,
I still recall in my mind's eye,
An English Christmas Time.
