My Tired Feet - I walked down to my mailbox to see what's in the mail. Nuthin' but some bills to pay, and flyers for the sales. I walked down to the corner to hear the latest news. The news was so depressing had to move on in my shoes. My feet are growing tired. They lost the urge to roam. I think they should retire. It's time to bring them home. I walked down to the market to pick me up some food, but the prices, were too high there, and the people were all rude. I walked down to the drug store to pick up my new pills. They was nuthin' but placebos, so I couldn't get no thrills. I see the distant landscape, but my feet are just too worn. The path I take is my fate. Too late to be reborn. I walked down to the gov'ment to give'm a piece of my mind. They pushed me out the door now, and they kicked me in my ass. I walked on back home now to get me some relief. T'was at the bottom of a bottle, and the end of a spleef. And so I am back home again. The circle is complete. It's time to begin again. Tomorrow I'll repeat. x
