Lyrics/Melody-Scott Jeffrey

When I was a boy I grew up hunting with my father in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. Just behind my home it was a labyrinth of thickets and deep thick hollows so it was easy to get lost. When I was old enough to hunt by myself for the first time my dad told me "Son if you ever get turned around back there-just walk toward the sun and you'll always find your way back home." Later on life I got lost in labyrinth of a different kind, in a world full of alcohol and drugs and meaningless relationships. I hit bottom when my kid brother committed suicide...and it was at his funeral I looked at my life and when I realized how lost I was-when God allowed me to see where I had strayed off course-I remembered my father's advice-when you're lost...walk toward the sun...and that's what I did...I accepted Christ as my savior and I put my old life behind me...and just walked toward The Son...one night I woke up at 3 a.m. and I wrote this song.
I was looking for a little light
In a world dark with despair
Seeking shelter in the shadows
But found no comfort there
Perfume tempts the lonely
And neon lures the blind
I was looking for the answers
Where there were none to find.

Because there’s only one truth one life
One light to guide you on
There’s only one path one road
Only one direction home
There’s only one way one hope
When there’s nowhere left to run
Turn your back on the world...
And walk toward The Son.

{Bridge}
As it was in the beginning
A world without end
It’s His sacrifice that gives us life
When we give it back again…

In a halo spun from thorns
The Prince of Peace was crowned
And beneath a crimson cross
They knelt on Holy ground
For three days their faith was broken
Soon all doubt was cast aside
As he rose into the heavens
With His arms held open wide

He said there’s only one truth one life
One light to guide you on
There’s only one path one road
Only one direction home
There’s only one way one hope
So if there’s nowhere left to run
Just turn your back to the world...
And walk toward The Son.

Turn your back on the world…
And walk toward….His Son.
