"You can't hold what has already gone away" Separation, Divorce the loss of a life partner or meaningful relationship. Maybe you are someones son or daughter who watched your parents all apart in front of you. Maybe you were in a relationship realized the fire had gone out and even the ashes are swept away. For those of you that have dealt with this issue in some way or are still dealing with it. This one's for you. Two Silo Complex, Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Drums provided by EZ drummer.

Hold on
V1
I walked down the street today
where we said our vows in May
the church bells still ring 12 times at noon
as I stood there on the corner
my shadow growing ever longer
I would have sworn those bells rang out of tune.

bridge:
I know that I'll miss your smile
and the twinkle in your eye
Those things they don't break me right in two
instead what really gets me
maybe you would agree
Is how we fell apart out of the blue

Ch
I wish I'd been a little stronger
and held on a little longer
as my vision turns from gold to grey
I guess that we got older
Now I no longer hold you
you can’t hold what’s already gone away.

V2
On that cold day in December
I'll always remember
the day there was no ribbons and no bows
the snow it was so white
your heart as cold as ice
on the day that you gave away our love
bridge:
I know that I'll miss your smile
and the twinkle in your eye
Those things they don't break me right in two
what really gets me
maybe you would agree
Is how we fell apart out of the blue

Ch
I wish I'd been a little stronger
and held on a little longer
my vision turns from gold to grey
I guess that we got older
Now I no longer hold her
you can’t hold what’s already gone away.
V3
We held on for all these years
Through all the joys and the tears
I guess it was never quite enough
What happens when your blue skies gone
The birds no longer sing a song
I found out the day I called your bluff

bridge:
I know that I'll miss your smile
and the twinkle in your eye
Those things they don't break me right in two
what really gets me
maybe you would agree
Is how we fell apart out of the blue

Ch
I wish I'd been a little stronger
and held on a little longer
my vision turns from gold to grey
I guess that we got older
Now I no longer hold her
Another of life’s failures on display.
I wish I'd been a little stronger
and held on a little longer
my vision turns from gold to grey
I guess that we got older
Now I no longer hold her
you can’t hold what’s already gone away.

Observation Station
Took me a while but I found the song with the most art on TSC page. It's a Jackson Pollock of a song with all the tracks splashed onto the floor to roll around in. The colors are dark purples, browns and olive, the brush is broad and applied with strong strokes, maybe impasto. Submerged vocal is the glue to hold the canvas together. The song wades in it's heavy boots through musical sand then falls off a cliff suddenly at the end.

Musings
oh my god... reading these lyrics made me cry. I too was married in the month of May. If this were to become the culminating story relating unto that event... GOD FORBID! Two Silo Complex: if this be part of your diary "MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU"... my heart is aching as I now write... tears being shed... so if what I'm listening to is "just a song" you've done a wonderful job. If it is "more"... PEACE BE UNTO YOU, BROTHER! ...Sincerely, -M-
