You cut your hand while you were dreaming
Of the great sails that you had sewn
While you were floating for so long
Adrift where you were born
In the eye of the storm
The breeze caught your hair while you were sailing
Sunlit at the helm of your tall ship
I heard your golden voice soar
As you sped proudly and so sure
From the eye of the storm
But the wind came up so strong
And your compass it was wrong
And you waited for too long
Then the sea began to roar
And you disappeared once more
Into the eye of the storm
And I was carried right along
By the beauty of your song
But I waited for too long
So I’ll keep watching from the shore
Til you reappear once more
From the eye of the storm
