After a performance at Philadelphia’s “M Room”, Philadelphia CityPaper's ICEPACK columnist A.D. Amorosi affectionately dubbed BMI Performing Artists/Songwriters Afferent Cue "Philadelphia's Rough Alterna-Folkies", and it stuck.

Things grew from there for the trio based in Philadelphia. A performance in Asbury Park, NJ was unexpectedly filmed for Time-Warner Cable airing to great reviews. In 2009, "Louisiana (Maiden, Mother and Crone)", was recognized as one of the "Top 5 New Songs of The Year" by XFS and they were asked to perform it live at the "X-FEST 2009" stage.

On the heels of that honor, Afferent Cue was also invited to play the "Philly Song Shuffle" at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia as part of the internationally acclaimed Philly Fringe Festival. Things were starting to move.

In 2010 Afferent Cue entered MorningStar Studios to begin recording with Grammy Award Winning Producer/Engineer, Glenn Barratt. The year has been an exciting one and 2011 promises to hold the same. Along wiith the scheduled release of their highly anticipated "Drinking With Hemingway" CD in April/May, they are currently firming up plans to take an extended road trip - living, touring, writing and blogging their way aross the USA discovering all the wonderful things that that sort of freedom has to offer.

Mentions about their live performance can be found in several media outlets. Philadelphia.com recently described an Afferent Cue live performance as a "show not to be missed" and they have received numerous mentions as a "top pick" on NBC TV's "10 Around Town". No surprise, as it is in live performance that Afferent Cue truly shines - interacting with audience members as well as with each other, ensuring a great evening of music, fun and reflection. They love what they do, have a great time doing it and it shows.
One reviewer described their live performance in this way - "...going to see "Afferent Cue" is like an adventure into the world of voyeurism - at times hilarious, at other times poignant and moving...Starr and Bill write what they live and it shows onstage - you can't help but be drawn in..."
