hattiewilcox.com JUNE 2008. This week mixing new version of New Orleans Down with gorgeous violin part (added to piano) written and played by Christopher Marion. It is definitely a reflection of my mixed moods these days. I hope it speaks to you. Thanks so much for the nomination of Rocket Power Remix for 2008 Golden Kayak. It didn't win, still I am grateful to have my work nominated for the second year in a row. JAN 2008. This year will bring collaborations with Dead Pixels Asylum, Lthrboots and PhillyC. I'm excited! DEC 2007 Can you believe it's December? Snow is starting to fall in the midwest and back east while everyone is working to wrap up the year. Just heard from music supervisor at Roadtrip Nation 2007 that they selected "New Orleans Down" for their 12-part series in its fourth season on PBS, first season on MSN. And the citizens over at Sony's acidplanet.com just finished mixing some great chops on my song You Save Me in the Broadjam Remix Contest that ended last week. It's gonna be hard to sit in the judges seat and pick a winner. September 2007: I just signed the agreement with Stimulus Films for the licensing of "The Leaving" (with Wanda Vick on fiddle) for the film and soundtrack of Grilling Bobby Hicks. Film production is complete and if you are so inclined you can see the trailer at myspace.com/stimulus films. They tell me the song is selected for the soundtrack CD, too. Yay! Thanks for the nominations and votes that landed me two 2006 Golden Kayak awards! This indie site is a very comfortable place and I feel like I can post any song I have and it will find an audienceno matter how far from an identifiable or marketable genre the song might stray. Mostly, I thank you for this IACers. You are a diverse and open-minded group with open arms to every kind of musical expression offered. I'm honored to be here. I am an artist, songwriter and composer born in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was raised on Chopin, Debussy, hillbilly blues and soul. These influences are in my blood and definitely sneak into my music. I'm still holding out against all advice to focus on one genre, especially since film and TV need all styles! I hope you enjoy my mixed bag as I have many loves when it comes to music. And I hope this variety doesn't result in any kind of dilution. I'd like to think there's something here for lots of folks. I love electronicayep yep yepand I'll always be a sucker for a dance track. If you find me after listening to one of my electronica tracks, then all I can say is S-O-R-R-Y! There are only two electronica tracks here and Bollywood Dance Mix by Lthrboots of You Save Me. Until there's more I hope you can find your way without getting stuck knee-deep in my county fair country and late-night blues and piano bar tunes! Photo right: ©2006 Paul Savage / savages4hire.com
