Jet Brennan is a Scots/Irish singer/song writer and acoustic guitarist. A former winner of the UK Voice of the Year contest, Jet's songs are uncompromisingly plain and deceptively simple and delivered in a stripped-down style with a Celtic lilt.
He is a graduate of the School of Bars and Busking and has spent a good part of his musical life on the road. Born in Central Scotland his earliest musical memories are of the Clancy Brothers, traditional Scottish airs and pipe bands.
Jet was originally a drummer and discovered guitar at fifteen. He left Scotland for England in his late teens and played rhythm guitar in local bands. He discovered that he had the knack for writing tunes that people enjoyed and developed his own voice and material, testing his audiences on busking forays around the UK and Ireland. In 1996 Jet won the UK Voice of the Year competition, breaking with convention by singing his own song, Easy Morning, rather than a cover version.
Over the past seven years, he has performed mainly as a solo artist around the UK, Ireland and France. He still likes to roadtest new material by doing the odd spot of busking!
