From the small town of Cobourg, Ontario, comes singer/songwriter, Sue Passmore. With words sewn together as if crafting the most comfortable quilt, it is not surprising people become attached to the unique patches she is made of.
Now based out of Toronto, Sue has taken opportunity to sing in a variety of venues from intimate bar/club performances, to appearances with Toronto's Kings of Swing production. In 2003, Sue released an album with Toronto electro-lounge group Bluesativa. Sue with the other members Joel Stouffer (Dragonette), Adam King (J's Basement, Adam King Production), Dustin Harris (van A primer), and Graeme Cornies (van A primer) created a sound that, combined with Sue's vocals and lyrics, received great reviews from audiences and influenced her approach to writing and performance. All of Bluesativa's members continue to play a part in Sue's solo career, and along with the talents of a collective of other great musicians in the city, Passmore's debut solo album, 87 Miles, came to life and was released in January, 2006.
"I am more than excited about the release of 87 Miles! So many great musicians touched this album and I couldn't be happier with the result."
87 Miles captures the passion and intensity of love's hot, dusty road well travelled, through all its thrills and wrong turns. The album is refreshingly tangible and beautifully performed.
Sue has appeared on CBC Radio, College Radio, Internet radio and was recently featured on Toronto's Independent Music Podcast. Sue currently has her sights set on a summer tour of the east coast.
87 Miles was produced by Adam King Production (Methodology, Fat Cats, Run With The Kittens, J's Basement, Bluesativa, Craig Cardiff).
