Garth Bourne............. Garth started his musical career in the early ‘70’s, after moving from the West Indies to North America. His vocal talent was recognized immediately, with notable labels such as R.C.A. and United Artists signing him on with the band, Canadian Zephyr. As their lead vocalist/bass player and front man, Garth took many of their records to NUMBER 1, several times on the Canadian country music charts. This gained them international notoriety and many Juno and Country Music Award nominations. Garth’s vocal talent was sought after for several commercials, including a global ad for a major soft drink company. He has appeared on several Canadian TV Variety shows, including a two year run on Shaw Cable where he hosted his own country music show, interviewing such notables as Ronnie Hawkins and featured many local musicians. Garth has proven his musical flexibility throughout the years, performing with bands and opening shows for many notables such as: Wilf Carter, Tommy Hunter, “Whispering” Bill Anderson, Freddie Fender, Johnny Paycheck, Stonewall Jackson, Jean Shepherd and several other Opry Stars. The idea to produce a CD of old and original songs came from one time band mate Terry Blankley. Together they spent endless hours in the "SHED" and with the help of some of Canada's top musicians the CD "THEN AND NOW" was produced. Assembled on this CD are a group of legendary musicians that have been captivating audiences throughout the world for many years.
