Since 1990, multi-instrumentalist/composer/singer DeLonde Bell has been producing and performing music in varying styles from avant-garde to pop.
During his college years, he was with the avant-garde/experimental/noise combo A. F. Ensemble whose rotating membership included Jim O"Rourke and Dylan Posa. In that same vein, he was an original member of the improv-rock group the Sheep Fiends as their rhythm guitarist. Briefly, DeLonde did time as keyboardist for the gothic group Tears of Isis.
In 1995, DeLonde amassed enough songs to go solo. While cutting his teeth on the bar-and-coffeehouse scene in his native Chicago, DeLonde fronted underground power-pop-trio Catfish Hunter. The group won diverse followings playing intimate shows at the great NoExit Cafe' to full houses at the legendary Lounge Ax and FitzGeralds.
Now residing in Oregon, DeLonde's gained fame as a composer for short films and for his remixing projects. Current projects include Phoenix Door his first solo, full-band album since 1998 and the tentively titled 12 Places, an electronic-music song cycle. His recent solo disc, Pearls is independently released and distributed by DeLonde himself.
In addition to his solo work, he is the current Music Director of Radiant Theatre Productions for the 2006 season.
When he can manage it, DeLonde is also the drummer and backup vocalist for Portland goth-pop quintet Once in the Sun.
