Snowcover is the solo project of singer/songwriter Jean Midde. Next to 3 bands, Footsweep (frontman), Trouble, pass me by (bass), Quarterlake (guitar), snowcover is Jean’s real voice. It initially started as an experiment in impulsive songwriting, but when his study of Musicology in Amsterdam was abandoned in 2006 he also said goodbye to the abstract approach of songwriting. Particularly Leonard Cohen inspired a turnover to 'simple' songs. Curiosity kills the cat, and rather than exploring the how and why, snowcover returned to what had started it in the first place, writing real songs. Now autumn 2007 it’s time, straight from the bedroom to the stage, his debut album The Moon and the Mailbox.

Silence I once did this song for a challenge on a recording forum to write a song, record it and upload it in 1 day. And it worked out very well, I surprised myself actually. Ironically the lyrics of the song were exactly about why people feel the urge to do these sort of things. This was also how I came up with the idea of a musical journal.
