Matt Lowell’s perfect combination of singer/songwriter and soulful rock sounds, will set his “Second Storm EP” apart from the new generation of attention grabbing musicians. Matt is set to release his “Second Storm EP” this fall. This compilation of tunes co-written and produced by Crit Harmon, winner of 2008 Boston Music Awards producer of the year, for his work with Martin Sexton, is Matt’s second time working with Crit.
Matt’s first EP, First Taste, had songs featured in TV shows such as Real World Brooklyn, ESPN, and the Everwood DVD. In the winter of ‘07 Matt completed his debut album, “Dixie Land”, recorded and produced in Nashville. And set out on his first full-length tour, including Prep Schools, popular venues in NYC and Connecticut, and headlined a three week leg of Camplified, and ended with ski resorts throughout the North East. Selling over 1,500 copies of his newly released album.
After graduating Berklee College of Music and completing the First Taste EP Matt began his ’08 -’09 tour of over 55 shows, at popular venues such as BB Kings, Blender Theatre, Highline Ballroom and Irving Plaza opening for well known acts as Eve6, Jeffrey Gaines, Martin Sexton, Marcy Playground, Val Emmich, Will Dailey, and others. This led to a live performance on Fox TV Boston where Matt received raved reviews for his performance of a new song “Kicking Around”.
His sold out show at the Living Room completed the end of this highly successful tour. Matt’s unique blend of gripping lyrics, his magnetic live performances and sensational touch on the guitar have made others compare him to Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Paul Simon alike.
