The girl loves Olivia Newton-John and Pat Benetar. The boys are obsessed with The Beatles and Kiss. They come together and a trio is born. They call themselves TWINTWELVE. A year goes by and TWINTWELVE find themselves with an ever-growing catalog of songs that land them placements with MTV and TNT. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves – let’s take it back a bit. In 2002, Jeny Nicholson, James O’Connell and Gordon Townsend – all East Coast transplants – united their fondness for pop/rock and their love of songwriting to create TWINTWELVE. They began writing and recording song after song in their Silverlake studio where they continue to operate today. With each member bringing considerable professional songwriting experience to the group, they quickly began fusing glossy hooks, catchy melodies, intriguing stories and clever production work into a diverse pop song repertoire. Singer/songwriter Jeny Nicholson has been writing, performing and recording since fronting Washington D.C. alt-rock band Hearsay. Hearsay snagged rotation on WHFS and played the inaugural WHFestival. More recently, while fronting Los Angeles’ My Sister Amazing, she received a Los Angeles Music Award for Best Independent Single for ""Even."" The band was also featured on VH1’s Rock Across America as one of the nation’s best unsigned artists. Multi-instrumentalists and production specialists, James O’Connell and Gordon Townsend have resumes full of impressively diverse music accomplishments. O’Connell drummed in Hollywood Records’ The Crosswalk, and has recently worked with Sheila Nichols, Cody Chestnutt and Jon Brion. James also worked as Sony Music staff producer and has placed several songs in episodes of WB’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Townsend has recorded and/or performed with a variety of artists, including Electric Light Orchestra II, Paul McCartney guitarist Rusty Anderson, Phantom Planet and Jason Falkner. He has toured extensively throughout North and South America, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland and Denmark. Constantly evolving and expanding the limitations of pop music, TWINTWELVE make attractive music without the clichés or mass appeal posturing.
