One piano, one violin, and two musicians with a penchant for beige, waltzes and waistcoats - and Pipe and Slippers was born. The bands' first gig took place in a retirement home in Hove. There were only 3 people in that audience, but with a combined age of 237 they've lived enough, seen and heard enough to recognise the genius of Pipe and Slippers . The next step was to take on London, starting with an afternoon of poetry, music and madness at 'Pipe and Slippers', at the Ivy House (Peckham Rye), then at 'The Twist' (Oliver's Music Bar, Greenwich). However, the band complained that such venues had a distinct lack of Earl Grey tea and custard creams, so will resume their UK tour of retirement homes. So, lock up your grannies, Pipe and Slippers will be heading their way
