Two new Songs in the Works!
The first one is an instrumental we recorded the same day as the Space snippet. This will be an exotic musical adventure created in the spirit of Fantasies 1, 2, and 3, from the first Contemplating Waves release. Our working title is, you guessed it, Fantasy #4!
The second song is based on a beautiful chord progression and melody Russ came up with at the end of our last session, as we were packing up. I am writing the lyrics. This one is going to be our "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." Russ's melody is that good.

Great session yesterday! I added some acoustic guitar. Russ worked on drums. Today I am going to add some bouzouki and harmonica. (Yes, a strange combination of sounds!) Then, we'll focus on percussion sounds.

The average time for an expert to create a masterpiece can vary widely, but it often takes several hours/many days to prepare and present a high-quality "dish", depending on the complexity and "ingredients" involved. Some intricate "dishes" may require even more time for preparation to make it COOK. =D

Right now, we are considering how much percussion and drums we actually need, if any, for this one. It's over 6:30, but it is not a standard v-c-v-c-b-c-c kind of structure. It's more like a series of improvisational movements, or perhaps an overture. But I took a break from listening to it yesterday afternoon and got into some pleasure listening. I was listening to "Supper's Ready" by Genesis from the Foxtrot album and really paid attention to the long sections without drums. We'll figure it out when we continue working on it this week.
Song #2 has a more traditional song structure. I'm still working on the first draft lyric for that one. Then Russ and I will tear it up and rewrite it about a dozen times until we both agree it is perfect.
