The Black Umbrellas was a project from the early 2000s, a time when broadband internet was still a luxury. We had a Casio keyboard with a built-in rhythm section, a few microphones, and used Sony's Acid for our recordings. Each of us brought our own musical influences to the table—Brent loved Weezer and John Mayer, I was into Fastball, and Matt A. leaned towards Wilco and Modest Mouse. Despite our technological limitations, I believe we created some unique and entertaining tunes that blended our diverse styles beautifully.
