ABOUT TANIA K. Being born with talent is one thing. But in some cases, it almost seems genetic. This is one of those cases. Tania K., a.k.a. Lisa Dolton is an amazingly talented songstress from the United Kingdom, right on the outskirts of London. With a range that could rival that of all time greats, listening to one of her songs and closing your eyes could take you to a whole other world. Only to be snapped back to reality once the song is over, you'll be scrambling for the next song to start just to see where she takes you next. A multifaceted woman, she showcases talent in Classical, Jazz, and Soul, as well as Pop and R&B. A talent that could only be described as unbelievable, Tania K. is destined for stardom, with greatness as a milestone. Make no mistake about it. Coming from an already talented family, with her father having worked with Mick Jagger, and her mother a songbird/ writer/ producer herself, it only seemed natural that Tania fall in line with the family business. At very young age, she could be heard singing to Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion around the home, which would become her greatest influence and idols. By time tania reached a teenager, with her voice already gaining amazing range and depth, she began testing her skill with the pen, and added songwriter to her credit. As time went on, her vocal talent would take her to many competitions around London, yet the major competition did not start until age 16. Tania would take 1st place in quite a number of them with her best song "Hero" by Mariah Carey, but mostly came in 2nd. But it didn't matter. She'd had a taste of the limelight, and she wanted more. She wanted the enormous stage, the pyrotechnics, her name in lights, and the legions of fans screaming her name from the crowd. But mostly, she wanted to make music for all to enjoy and relate to. Tania K. simply wanted to be remembered. With her new found drive, she began her dive into the shark infested waters of the music industry, which she could feel running hot through her veins. Quickly she began cover versions of classic songs, and put them up on numerous websites worldwide. The buzz was nonstop. But with that buzz comes the doubters, the down-players, and the haters. But it wasn't enough to stop her grind. Tania kept at it, going to the studio and pushing herself and her voice until she felt perfection had been achieved. What would come from this relentless dedication and determination is a promotional album that would showcase her range and diversity, as she touched a number of genres. Soul classics like "At Last." contemporary hits like "You Raise Me Up," and even Operatic showings such as"Carrickfergus" are present. But don't confuse her for a cover artist. Tania K. has a completely original album already in the works as well. Music is a big part of Tania's life, but she has a hunger for so much more. With a heart as big as an ocean, she wants to give back and help less fortunate children and donate/ volunteer her time with charities. Wanting to give back to the music community as well, she plans to start her own record company to help those artists with the talent, but not the financial backing that is so desperately needed in this industry. And with her being as passionate about music as she is about life in general, she should have no problem achieving it all. After all, it is in her genes.
