I've formed a new Stooges inspired band called "Daughter Of Mars". My music is in the vein of the early punk sounds at CBGB’s in the 1970’s, but I’m also inspired by the post punk bands in England – bands like Joy Division and Bauhaus. I’m a great admirer of PJ Harvey, Pixies, Patti Smith, Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground. Check out my EP "Bettie Black" because it rocks!! And keep checking back because some new tunes are on the way. BIO "a friend turned me onto post-punk music in 2001, and it had an enormous impact on me artistically. These bands play darker music with a lot of minor chords. The lyrics were very real and de___scriptive of the deep emotions of human experience, and are mirrored by the minor darkness of the music. It has a close relation to punk rock, stripped down and urban, street like and honest …." (Bettie Black, Oct. 2006) “My earliest memory was this little green radio I had. I memorized every song I heard." Liz Rose recalls growing up in the California suburbs. “I must've been 3 or 4 years old listening to everything coming out of my mom's car radio; lots of soul, disco, whatever; it got my attention.” After a particularly transformative experience at an Iggy Pop show, Liz realized her destiny. “Iggy had the wild self expression I always wanted for myself. I knew then and there that music was the only thing for me.” Her fascination with the theatrics of rock and roll led Liz to pursue a degree in drama and performance at San Francisco State University. After graduation, she fronted several acclaimed bands in the San Francisco club scene such as Glow and Runaway Bunny. This led to her first record. Since then, she has continued to write new and innovative material, drawing from her daily experiences. “I feel like I have a channel within me that constantly sends me riffs and scraps of melodies.” Liz Rose's music provides a backdrop to the universal heartache of healing the human condition. The darkness of her music is redeemed by the confidence and strength of her words. There is no mistaking her voice. It's a clear and present, unbridled understanding of the struggle of the human spirit. "I am happiest when I'm writing and playing. It's who I am. I will never stop."

Nighttime People in a Daytime World "Nighttime" has a dark groove with lots of mystery and guitar landscapes - emotional highs and lows. This song reflects a different dimension, somewhere between the realms of reality and dreams - full of deep moments, love and beauty, terror and sadness, darkness and light, magic.
