Eric Paul is from a small town in Illinois with rural surroundings. A simple way of life far enough away from the big city has inspired many songs about relationships, life experiences, and personal beliefs. Although his musical training and experience is deeply rooted in the classical genre, he has always felt a strong pull toward pop rock and folk music. In college, he was the keyboardist/guitarist for Shakti, an Iowa City based rock band which enjoyed local success with a loyal following. After graduation, armed with a degree in Music Composition, he set out for the real world and quickly found it's difficult to pay bills doing the occasional arrangement and tran_scription, not to mention working at a recording studio making next to nothing. After getting a job outside of his concentrated field, he was able to save enough money to build a recording studio at home and record many of the songs that had accumulated in his head for years. Now he is determined to place these songs in the public eye and garner the attention of anyone who will listen. His music is described as melodic folk with an occasional pop rock twist that strives to be original in its delivery, but memorable upon its departure.
