Spin Doctor Radio A great tune from a consumate pro. . . and live.
Frogbox Radio god knows i love Janis Ian!i have since i was a boy. great songwriter, great guitar player, and a great singer. for any of you young cats that aren't familiar with Janis, you should check her out. she is what"singer/songwriter" is all about.
Troubadour Radio Ahh songwriting ! It's really not rocket science ! It's about not lying ! There's some Joni Mitchell "False Alarm" (actually the song's called "Amelia") and "The Last Time I Saw Richard" chords, but that's not what makes it such an honest and beautiful envelope of a song. It doesn't blame, it doesn't oversweeten, it perfectly reflects. Favourite line "We spoke of Michelangelo and believed each other's lies". Man that's good.
SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND Another beautiful melody from Janis
AOR Overflow Still one of the best singer/songwriters in the world.
FAME & GLORY The release of her 18th studio album, Billie’s Bones, is the latest achievement in Ian’s remarkable career. Billie’s Bones beautifully showcases Ian’s superb songwriting and sultry vocals. “Billie’s Bones is a folk album,” Ian says. “I’ve spent this past year at home, so it wasn’t the typical ‘go on tour for 8 months, slam out an album and go back on tour’ recording process. Because of that, there’s a calmness to it I haven’t had since Stars and Between The Lines. Almost all the songs were written in January, February, and April of 2003. Usually I don’t manage to complete that many songs that I like in a short period of time.”
