(Slater) ©2006 BMI Last night the Scarecrow told me this story over a couple of beers…he said, I remember very clearly Every word you said to me All the warning signs were flashing Listen closely you will see (She) took a knife she’d dipped into fire Used that sucker right on me Watch me on my cross nailed higher Chanting out her name and saying Someday you’ll be sorry Middle 8 The Scarecrow said “I was such a loser, Until Dorothy came my way I never drank much but now I’m a boozer She stole my car and got away Those bricks were only painted yellow The Munchkins on safari shot the Lion yesterday He said, The Wicked Witch is still flyin’ She’s in an ad for UPS They made her wear a Gucci dress And I will bet that you can guess Who she’s igniting every day! (Duhhhhh) The Tin Man was a total airhead Fell in love when Dorothy spoke But then she used her torch upon him Tin heart flying up in smoke I’m not kidding its no joke Middle 8 The Scarecrow said “I was such a loser, “Where is she now?” Until Dorothy came my way “Where is she now?” After we married I abused her And dumped her, made my getaway The Emerald City’s old and tarnished Looks just like greasy green pate’ He said, The Wicked Witch is still fryin’ Her analyst says she’s depressed She’s anorexic from the stress And I will bet that you can guess Who’s setting fires everyday! (Hmmmmmm) He said That’s the ending of my story He stood up and staggered out the door (Left) bits of straw and the raven’s calling Scarecrow’s Story nevermore!
