“Exposure”(or "Truth-telling") seems "very scary” indeed. This perspective is symptomatic of the "unjustified" PRIDE… which is ALWAYS(and “IN” ALL WAYS) “felt” both before and during any “Fall from Grace”. Hiding is ever so important. And isn't it strange how much "value" that "secret" has? It is a "hidden treasure" indeed! Feel its value.
