After the Storm
Wild guitars writhing in a cauldron of steaming rhythm. Okay, that's a bit much. However, it IS a fast-paced, rockin' guitar slamfest. Despite what you might think, I did NOT suggest the sirens (but I completely dig).

You and I Could've Been Together
Another well-written and heart felt song from Anna Marie. Tinged with melancholy, this story about what might have been never fails to tug my heart. Well done, angel.

Twig Club
Inspired musical madness from the ftp crew. Great rhythm bed for some moody musical ramblings. Then, a slice of Twig Club atmosphere with lounge stylings. Then, back to the forest. Excellent percussion sounds and groove. I hope my membership hasn't lapsed.

Like an Echo
This song starts off almost Gordon Lightfoot-ish, but that soon fades as the lead vocals amble in, sounding more like early Floyd or Donovan. Enthusiastically psychedelic, and making no apologies. None needed, this is an excellent bit of songwriting and execution.

The Grip Weeds
Love's Lost on You
I have yet to come up with any coherent way of describing this band's music. Labels really come short anyway. This is a potent, 'pop' band with dynamic melodies, tight harmonies, and muscular guitar work. Oh, the drums are pretty good, too. Actually, this is one of those bands (like many on this site) that make you wonder who DOESN'T sign bands like this?

Lonely Years
I've found myself coming back to this band's page on several occasions. This song has an authentic late-'60's sound that harkens back to the Doors, the Seeds, the Lovin' Spoonful, etc. A hip, trippy tune that is a great ice breaker at parties.

Falling apart
I envy Al's great compositional sense. The lush vox, the arrangement, the syncopation of the lyric. Hand me a hammer, and I'll dent my noggin. No one person should be this good. I echo the "Beatle" references and add a little Todd Rundgren into the mix. Excellent tune.

The Pozers
Everybody's High
Honestly, officer, I was just shuffling along and this song broke out. Nice, appropriately laid-back tune about addictions of all sorts. The witty lyrics have a rolling quality that becomes almost a spiel. Incidentally, I dig the "Raising Arizona" sample.

You Can Fly Again
A beautiful voice from Anna Marie, with a song about letting go. The instrumentation is excellent, but the songwriting is the real key here. A well-said version of allowing someone to follow their own path. Anna Marie is an angel.

Constitution (Homeland Insecurity Remix)
From the boistrous, percussion-laden intro, to the rolling reggae groove, this song has a lot of appeal. The fact that it has a great message is just more gravy, and I love gravy. Really well-done.

The Unfortunate
A down-tempo ambient piece here, that almost makes you want to cry. Deliberate pacing and minimalist playing, but with a full, engaging sound.

Viva Carlos !
If you're going to play a tribute to Carlos Santana, you better have your Latin rhythms and gtr chops in order. Arek does. This song has pulse and groove to spare, and his guitar soloing burns like 4-alarm blaze.

Crystal Clear
Really good groove to this intstrumental piece. Makes me want to hold my girl close and move in time. The playing is tight, and the solos blend into the music so well, they're almost subliminal.

Just follow the pulse, and let it lead you. Inventive use of field recordings and samples to create an atmosphere. Extremely soothing music for a bit of relaxation and contemplation. Just let it flow.
