 'The loss of animal life at Memphis Animal Shelter cannot be blamed on anyone else other than those who are running and working in the shelter. The animals are the victims of their lack of care and their cruel irresponsibilty. I set up and ran a shelter in Greece, one of the most difficult countries to work in when it comes to animal welfare – we had no problem caring for, loving and rehoming literally hundreds of dogs and cats – and there was only two of us at the time!'
