Happy Rhodes
Here And Hereafter
Pound for pound, Happy Rhodes may be one of the most ironically named artists of all time. Nonetheless, this is a splendid exercise in sweet sound. Sit back and enjoy.

Scott Wilson
Coffeehouse 101
A great local boy here in San Diego. Coffeehouse 101 is the lead track from Scott's fantastic album, "Kaleidoscope's End" which I recommend wholeheartedly. Scott's work walks a fine line fusing sardonic sensibilities, holistic yearning and catchy hooks into a sweet California roll of musical goodness. Appropriate for freeway driving, drinking alone or sharing a loud-ish moment with someone you love.

A Hundred Days of Snow
Finally! A credible return to the best qualities of late 70s style songwriting, before mass marketing and beauty queens killed musicality. Dig that sweet Rhodes on the left and you know why A Hundred Days of Snow sounds right at home here in San Diego, where you never get one day of it.

Heck General
If the power to govern derives from the consent of the governed, how oh how have we ended up with this pathetic spate of sycophants, dilettantes and cruel merchants? Heck General is a wry reflection from the second rifle line at Shiloh but is sadly topical to this day and encompasses the wisdom that all commanders should personally lead their armies .... from the front lines.

Rain
This tune does everything right, capturing the essence of a particular brand of anger. It is neither shrill or unfocused but is seething and indignant. The music grabs you with soft hooks and doesn't let go until Moore makes his point.

Single File
Do you like a sneaky 7/8 intro? I thought so. Breathy baby-doll vocals through a sultry megaphone? Check. Imperative guitar strains tremolo'ed to perfection. Got it. Resting? Oh yeah! A magnificently performed and mixed fluffy layer-cake of Kiwiocity. If you spotted them in the KIAC Big 50, then you already know. Ah New Zealand...it's not just about sheep anymore.

Flowers
Set sail aboard Layman's Terms' ship of dreams upon the sea of Bill Savage's bitter ruminations on the era that Andre Gregory termed, "the last burst of the human being before he was extinguished." Layman's Terms' music has a nice, open sound and Flowers is no exception. Tenacious and earnest, don't stop at one, enjoy all of the fine selections available here from Layman's Terms.

Canterbury Love Song
One of the greatest band names ever...period. Canterbury Love Song is a boppy little number about sweet infatuation. The sound is snappy and warm with a nice guitar hook leading into the verses. And as an added bonus, if you got a fever...and the only pre ion...is more cowbell...well, this won't cure it, but it'll keep it under control.
