A sign of weakness
this is an approximately true tale about someone to whom I have been very close my whole life...for the vamp, I pulled out a jazz guy's idea of a rock line,,,first teacher Tony DiFasio was probably the only actual genius I ever worked with (maybe just an exagerration from my low frame of reference-though my IQ of 89 is like an A minus where I come from, so folks should pay close attention.
I had known Mac for many years…and I never knew him to have an easy go of things right out of the box. Maybe 10 years ago he had some trouble relative to selling cocaine. His co-workers at the post office took to calling him Miami Mac, while his lawyer (a known marijuana user) got enough continuances that Mac’s charges were eventually dismissed. Mac told me all this, and I never did inquire whether he was actually guilty.
I saw Mac again maybe 5 years later (I don’t get over that way often)
City of the world
got up before dawn to record a passing train up the street-it almost pulled me on...
Johnny Cash Kinda' Day
Dancing on the moon (for Mara)
Comin' 'round again
I late realize it's a song about fickle, fleeting inspiration...
Those Winter Sundays
Robert Hayden, 1913 – 1980
Sundays too my father got up early
and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,
then with cracked hands that ached
from labor in the weekday weather made
banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him.
I’d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking.
When the rooms were warm, he’d call,
and slowly I would rise and dress,
fearing the chronic angers of that house,
Speaking indifferently to him,
who had driven out the cold
thinking of those guys who grew up without a father and had some special relationship to "ma"-maybe one could only love a child as much...

This Cat Kills Me!!!! Love his creative imagination and wild sense of humor, and the Gent can write and play some great music.
